This article is an essay on Comparative History about the evolution of Iberisms in recent decades. These were traditionally ascribed to the methodological and epistemological area of the History of International Relations. However, the dialogue between disciplines and the openness generated by the reception to the peninsular case of modern theories about the nation has changed the historiographical paradigm. Since then, Iberism has gained in complexity and its imprint on the Spanish and Portuguese nationalization processes has been recognized due to its approach from multiple perspectives, among which it is worth highlighting the History of Ideas and the History of Concepts.
